RAD CORPS: DOOM WOOD
October 23rd, 2012 at 7:22 pm
Hot off the press today is our finest collaboration to date (actually it’s our only collaboration to date!)
DOOM WOOD is a limited edition run of brutal coffin boards designed by the Corpse Corpse Board Company in Brooklyn and the Radlands Clothing Co in Philadelphia.
Both companies share a love for primitive skateboarding and all things heavy, so the collaboration was a natural joining of camps, the brotherhood network extended. DOOM WOOD is a coffin shaped board reminiscent of 80′s pool shapes and feature’s the artwork of artist Matt Gribben (Radlands/Traffic) and Jordan Walzack (Corpse Corps).
Coffin shaped 7-ply American Maple deck produced here on the East Coast utilizing the same wood distributors that supplied such influential board companies as Blockhead Skateboards (c.1990), Concrete Jungle (c.1987), and JFA (c.1985).
Available exclusively at radlandsclothing.com & corpsecorpsboards.com And for 1 night only at Exit Skateshop in Philadelphia at the Radlands Pop Up Shop this Saturday, October 27th.
Limited to 25 boards per company, so get them while you can!

GNARLITUDE
October 17th, 2012 at 2:47 am
Jen over at Gnarlitude gave us some love the other day and we want to thank her for spreading the word of our brotherhood.
If your not familiar with Gnarlitude you are blowing it and need to firmly rest your peepers on her fucking blog and get a taste of that swill. She’s great and only posts bangers (naked mamas on bikes, vintage punk & metal tees, taxidermy, black everything) She also has a vintage shop up now, THE WILD FEW, and carries great Sturgis & Harley tees, as well as killer taxidermy and other finds.
Cheers Jen!

Gino: Steezus Christ
October 14th, 2012 at 3:56 am
Steezus Christ, my mans Gino just looks soo damn comfortable on a board. I don’t care about tennis or jazz, but I do care about noseslide pop-out finess and buttery 360 no-complys.
I remember making mix tapes on VHS of Gino that would literally be a single clip here and there from various videos, just to compile the rare sightings all in one place. The Gino stoke vid. Well if I still did those mix tapes, I’d add these 3 tricks immediately.

It’s always great to meet new people in a city that can sometimes feel old & stale after a long stretch of hanging at the same old haunts. Documentary filmmaker David Romberg has called Philadelphia home on & off for a number of years now, but spent his youth in a remote area of Grande, Brazil, where his father relocated to escape persecution in Argentina. He set out a few years ago to shoot a doc about an legend, a myth if you will, and has spent spent the better part of 3 years trying to finish the film. The kickstarter explains more than I will here, but David is a stand up guy, and people should get to know him. He’s now back in Philadelphia and hoping to finish this film, so spread the word and let friends know who want to support interesting, original works of art.
